PASURUAN. Who would've thought a quiet corner of East Java could leave such a strong impression on two travelers from across the globe? A cheerful girl from Korea and a Swiss adventurer named Matt recently spent several days exploring Kabupaten Pasuruan and they couldn't stop talking about how much they loved it.
Their adventure started with a journey through time at Candi Jawi and Candi Gunung Gangsir. Standing in front of the ancient temples, they were amazed by the detailed carvings and peaceful surroundings that seemed to whisper stories from centuries past. "It feels like stepping into another world," said the Korean traveler with a bright smile.
Next, they found themselves at Belahan Temple, where natural springs flow from mythical stone figures. The air was cool and fresh, and the scene so calm that they stayed longer than planned just to enjoy the quiet beauty of it all.
From history to heights, they continued to Jendela Langit, a popular highland spot where the sky feels close enough to touch. The sweeping views of Pasuruan stretched endlessly before them, leaving both in awe. "I didn't expect this kind of view here," Matt admitted, snapping photo after photo.
Of course, no visit is complete without tasting the local flavors. The pair tried Nasi Punel, a local rice dish served with delicious side dishes, and couldn't stop praising the freshness of Pasuruan's mangoes. "So sweet and juicy, better than what we get back home!" they laughed.
Their trip continued with a mix of nature and relaxation at Kaliandra Resort and Taman Dayu, before ending on a magical note at Putuk Truno Waterfall. Surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of rushing water, they both agreed it was the perfect finale to their Pasuruan adventure.

During our conversation, we also told them about another hidden potential of Pasuruan, its chrysanthemum flowers. The travelers were surprised to learn that Pasuruan's cool-climate areas are ideal for growing these vibrant blooms, which could become a new attraction for both domestic and international visitors. "I had no idea flowers like that could grow here," said the Korean traveler, clearly intrigued. "It makes Pasuruan sound even more special."
When asked about their overall impression, Matt said, "Honestly, I'm surprised. Pasuruan is so beautiful it deserves way more attention." His Korean friend nodded, adding, "People always talk about the big cities, but this place feels more real, more alive."
Their journey proves one thing: Pasuruan isn't just another stop on the map. It's a place where history, nature, and culture blend perfectly waiting for anyone curious enough to explore its hidden wonders.
